January/February Music Favorites

this past month:

MUSIC...

On YouTube, 'favorite videos' that creators put together after each month always fascinate me because I can gain a deeper insight into what they have been loving and cherishing.

Things that they deem worthy to share with their own audience.

Things that reveal more emphasis on objects and art in our world, and how we interact with those specific, but nevertheless, valuable object(s).

I love watching and attentively consuming the work of creatives that I've been following ever since I've put out content on this blog and on other social media platforms.

Favorites allow me to explore new albums, songs, food, and gain new insights into the lifestyle choices of other influencers. I genuinely enjoy gaining inspiration to integrate other people's favorites into my own life and creating progressive change in my own habits.

Here's my own spin on a favorites video, in a blog post. What I've been listening to on Spotify for the months of January and February 2018, and what I have been singing and dancing along to (with love).

Celine Dion - The Colour Of My Love

The perfect '90's album to sing your heart out to. A classic.

Shania Twain - The Woman In Me

Ever since I saw Shania Twain on The Voice at the beginning of 2017, she has been mesmerizing me with her natural songwriting talent, beauty, and enduring courageousness while following her on Instagram and YouTube. The Woman In Me is a perfect example of pop mixed with country. If you had been one of the friends that I've been texting my song and video recommendations to continuously, you would've known that "(If You're Not In It For Love) I'm Outta Here!" will forever be my favorite track on this album.

LeAnn Rimes - You Light Up My Life

LeAnn Rimes' voice is a beauty in itself. Since I've really been digging '90's country lately, these songs help me get through a slow week. "How Do I Live" is a track that you've probably also heard a gazillion times over the radio; the intensity of the melody within this song cannot be paralleled.

Chloe Kohanski - The Complete Season 13 Collection (The Voice Performance)

I originally began following Chloe Kohanski on Season 13 of The Voice with her audition of the cover of "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac. Kohanski had continually set the bar higher with artistry picked out of the '80's with a modern and fresh twist. Kohanski's gravelly voice suits the tough and heart-wrenching attitude of songs that include "Time After Time," "Total Eclipse Of The Heart," and "I Want To Know What Love Is." Kohanski once described her choice of genre as an artist as "psychedelic rock," and I definitely can agree with that.

Mariah Carey - Emotions

To see a playlist of my favorite Mariah Carey songs, click here to be linked to the Spotify playlist. Overall, Mariah is the absolute skinny legend. The ferocity of the track "Emotions" can be heard at the start of the album with the perfect intensity, and this ferocity is carried on throughout the upbeat tune of "You're So Cold" and yearning tone of "Till the End of Time," which are my favorite tracks off this album.
