November Favorites

What I've loved
this past month:

YouTube & books

On YouTube, 'favorite videos' that creators put together after each month always fascinate me because I can gain a deeper insight into what they have been loving and cherishing.

Things that they deem worthy to share with their own audience.

Things that reveal more emphasis on objects and art in our world, and how we interact with those specific, but nevertheless, valuable object(s).

I love watching and attentively consuming the work of creatives that I've been following ever since I've put out content on this blog, and on other social media platforms.

Favorites allow me to explore new albums, songs, food, and gain new insights into the lifestyle choices of other influencers. I genuinely enjoy gaining inspiration to integrate other people's favorites into my own life and creating progressive change in my own habits.

Here's my own spin on a favorites video, in a blog post. What I've been watching on YouTube, reading and connecting to.

youtubers

Amy Vagabond - she has already been included in my favorite YouTubers post, but specifically her AM with Amy videos I have found the most engaging this past month. She is genuinely real and down to earth by sharing her own internal struggles with her audience. Her AM with Amy videos are perfect to get ready along to. Personally, I love watching GRWM (Get Ready With Me) videos because you feel as though you're having a candid conversation with a friend right next to you.

Harry Styles - Kiwi (live in studio)
Damn...Harry Styles' wide leg black pants in this video serves major fashion inspiration for me. Regarding him an artist and in this live version of his song 'Kiwi,' he sounds even better than off of his self titled album called 'Harry Styles.' His modern take on rock-and-roll can please any age type or listener.

AIMEE SONG'S CHAMPAGNE EYES
Although I've just discovered Violette's channel very recently, her collaboration with Aimee Song (another recent fave) with a makeup look featuring flushed pink cheeks and lips paired with champagne eyes is gorgeous. I love Violette and her creativity in her videography. You can ditch your expectations of perfectly flawless and blended makeup, and revel in her average five-minute makeup looks. They are simple, flatter anyone, and take minimal effort. Goodbye Instagram makeup and hello to the Parisian look!

Fireside ASMR
I've probably listened to this video five to six times this past month to help me fall asleep. ASMR is a great way to help please your senses, study, and wind down after a stressful day.

Candice Neistat reveals it all - SECRETS TO BEING A GIRL BOSS
"Did I do today everything I need to do?" Candice Neistat spills her secrets to being a girl boss. She is unequivocally a hard working businesswoman with a strong work ethic. In this video, I was inspired by the fact that she did not have an initial website, or did not go to college to start her own jewelry business. She delves into her explanation of entrepreneurship: how you should make plans for every day and get them done immediately, rather than drawn out goals over the course of a year. For example, while goals made on the New Year can fall through quickly, having a game plan every day can help you in the long run towards fast tracking your success.

The Voice 2017 Chloe Kohanski - Top 11: "Total Eclipse of the Heart"
This year, I have to say that an adorable blond named Chloe Kohanski is my favorite off of The Voice Season 13. In her performance of "Total Eclipse of the Heart," she blew my socks off with her raspy vocals and feminine hard rocker attitude. She isn't afraid to be herself and commands the stage like a goddess. You better watch out for this girl in the music industry because this has to be one of the BEST performances that I've ever seen on The Voice ever.

books & movies

Note to Self by Connor Franta

Connor Franta's writing is full of depth in his diary formatted book 'Note to Self.' I have been a fan of Connor since 2013 when I watched him take part in O2L (Our Second Life) and make comedic sketches on his own personal channel. Although O2L broke up in December of 2014, I have followed Connor throughout the past three years in his own journey with his sexuality, life discussions, and weekly content. With 'Note to Self,' it is as though his Instagram and overall creativity was splashed with ink and translated directly to book form. The cover, photography, poems, and edited, concise diary entries come together to prove a work of art worth reading. You gain a new sense of his private life and help you examine the choices that you've made in your own life also.
