Fashion Inspirations

Google Images,

Fashion Galore:

my recent style inspiration favorites

During this past weekend, I found myself with 10 tabs open in Google Chrome. Yesterday, I spent 3 hours looking at and adoring how singers have their own signature style, especially live in concert.

I have been trying to create a post on my fashion inspirations for quite a while, but never had any great ideas to pull the post together. But like I've said in my Androgynous Fashion of the Week posts, "there has always been something very appealing to me in being able to combine masculine and feminine pieces into my outfits."

Although places such as Instagram and Tumblr offer great sources of inspiration for my own style, I couldn't help but notice how people like Harry Styles, or Shania Twain are able to pull together their looks as prominent figures in the music industry. These two singers are some of many examples of people who create great art by presenting themselves elegantly in their music and clothes.

Here are some links to the Billboard website, which I spent some time reading through looking for upcoming outfit post inspiration:

On another note, I've been loving the looks that the character Carrie Bradshaw, on the TV series "Sex and the City" is portrayed in. I watched a couple interviews regarding Sarah Jessica Parker discussing Patricia Field's ingenuity in tying different elements of the TV series together. For example, Parker talks to PeopleTV on their YouTube channel, and Field's decisions to tie in a big flower accessory into Carrie Bradshaw's outfit within different places of the storyline of the movies created after the TV series was aired.

One article online by www.harpersbazaar.com answers the question on

"How Carrie Bradshaw Created Modern New York Style." I definitely have a soft place in my heart for early 2000's style, being a 2000's baby and growing up with colorful ensembles of the new millennium, along with pieces from the late '90's. Carrie Bradshaw embodies fully the evolution of a decade filled with statement clothing, both mismatched and flamboyant in its own way.

Even with random and mindless searching on Google Images, I have compiled a bit of photos here, also, for future reference when I need some quick ideas to get dressed in the morning for school.

I used to think that Pinterest was a tacky place for do-it-yourself recipes and overrated, mainstream, and recycled ideas from Tumblr. However, I do now enjoy Pinterest for its streamlined version of images that would normally be free floating on the internet. Although I haven't been using Pinterest on a day-to-day basis, I do love its convenience and user-friendliness.
